There are two types of columns in Revit:

  1. Structural Columns
  2. Architectural Columns

As their name suggests, use the structural columns to add load-bearing vertical elements to the model and use architectural columns to add decorative vertical elements. Structural elements such as beams, braces, and isolated foundations join to structural columns; they do not join to architectural columns.

Modeling Ramps

A typical stair consist of Runs, Landing, Supports and Railing. These elements can be independently controlled as well as are connected with each other. For example, if you remove the staircase, railing on the stairs will automatically be deleted. You can model stairs assembling Run Component or by sketching them.
